¶ Visiting
When can I visit?
During Open Lab hours: Thursday 18:00–22:00 and Saturday 14:00–18:00. No appointment needed.
Do I need to pay an entrance fee?
No. Entrance is free. You only pay for machine usage and materials.
Where are you located?
Stapelhuisstraat 13-15, 3000 Leuven (Vaartkom area).
¶ Machines
Can I use any machine?
Most machines are freely available. The laser cutter and CNC machines require certification — attend a workshop first.
Can I bring my own material?
Yes. For 3D printing with your own filament, the rate is €1/hour. For the laser cutter, check with the volunteer on shift whether your material is safe to cut.
¶ Volunteering
How do I become a volunteer?
Contact us at [email protected] or speak to a volunteer during Open Lab. You'll sign a volunteering agreement and receive door access via the Salto KS app.
What's expected of volunteers?
Approximately 4 hours per month: covering shifts, maintaining equipment, giving workshops, or contributing to a team. Attend the monthly volunteer meeting (last Tuesday of the month).
What do I get as a volunteer?
- Free access to all machines (€5/month credit for paid machines)
- Free workshop attendance

¶ Workshops
How do I sign up for a workshop?
Buy a ticket via our Stamhoofd webshop. Workshops are announced on social media and in the lab.
I'm a student. Do I get a discount?
Yes — 50% off all workshops with a valid student card.
